Hey, there. Kacey, here.
I love designing & developing super awesome-looking websites.

But that's not all. I also enjoy creating original digital, and print pieces that are beautiful, and can truly inspire. So, once you've figured out that you like what you see, contact me about your design needs.

October 2011 Calendar

October 2011 Calendar

I designed this calendar while I was bored at work one day. It was just for fun. I actually designed three, or four, but ultimately liked the way this one turned out.

When I first started out I began throwing all kinds of colors, shapes, and blends into it because I wasn't happy with what I was coming up with. I hadn't exactly gone into the day thinking I was going to design a calendar.

At the end of the work day I left with a couple of designs, and continued working with it once I got home. Eventually I gave up and started with a blank page. This one took me about a half hour.

DeBuse Homes Logo

DeBuse Homes Logo Concept

My first client, as a freelance designer, was a local business owner in Sioux City named Larry DeBuse. He needed a fresh website, and I was up to the challenge.

I ended up giving his website a complete redesign, and even updated his logo (He didn't have a file with his logo as it was, so I created a copy).

At the time, I was happy with what I had created. What did I know, though? It was my first freelance project, and first website for a client. A couple of years later, however, I realized how amateur it looked.

I took it upon myself to design a new logo concept, and this was the end result.

Earthquake Warnings Inc Logo

Earthquake Warnings Inc Logo

EWI is a company that is still in production, and is an earthquake prediction service. They originally came to me for a website, and eventually used my expertise to produce print products, and help brand the company.

This logo happens to be my favorite that I've done. Because the company is new, as well as a service that is the first of it's kind, I wanted to depict a modern look, yet still maintain a professional feel.

The lower-case letters help to represent a young company, while the smooth, serif font makes them flow well. Then, of course, a seismic wave to let everyone know what they're all about.

QuakeCasts Website

QuakeCasts Website Concept

QuakeCasts is a subsidiary of EWI, and serves as the all-in-one website where viewers and subscribers can learn about the company, as well as sign up for the service.

This idea is an early look at what the website is looking to move to. It currently runs as a WordPress site, but needs an overhaul as the company matures.

Incorporating the latest in web standards, the new site will help to show that QuakeCasts, as well as EWI, is able to keep up with the modern times, and show that hard work is a part of this companies drive.
